At Indian Evangelical Team, we are grateful for the opportunity to rescue and take care of children previously held under the bondage of poverty, malnourishment, abuse, and slavery. We embarked on several new initiatives to meet the needs of children specifically.
Last year, IET started a micro girls orphanage near the borders of Nepal. The Debra Home is a two-story facility where a local congregation of about 150 adults meets on the first floor, and ten girls live on the second floor. These girls, aged 5 to 12, receive care from a dedicated couple from the village and go to school nearby. A few months ago, Compelled started a small center in north India, where girls between the ages of 10-15, who were abandoned by their families or rescued from violence, poverty, and slavery, can stay here and study up to high school. We are grateful for these opportunities to love the “least of these,” and we are eager to extend our reach in 2018 and beyond.
The start of a new school year marks a moment for us as an organization to pause and give thanks for what God has done, while also considering what new projects he has for us during the course of the year ahead. In India, a mere 32% of children finish their school education in an age-appropriate fashion. There is a severe lack of educational opportunity nationwide, as only 2% of the schools offer complete school education from Class 1 to Class 12 (District Information System for Education 2014-15).
To step up and fill the void, GET is currently looking into starting a new girls orphanage in Orissa. Once it is complete, we will be able to take care of about 10-20 girls at this facility.
Today, on behalf of these children, we wish to share an opportunity for you to provide one or more “back to school” packs for $75 dollars a piece. This is the season for the children to start their new school year. Each “back to school” pack includes a set of textbooks, school bag, school uniform, new pair of shoes, socks and additional school supplies.

Your generous gift has the propensity to bring knowledge, confidence and freedom to a generation of Indian children one pack at a time.
As our supporters and friends, you are instrumental in keeping India’s children educated, healthy and whole. Each school we can build and each child we can reach makes a big difference in our communities, our country, and our world. We truly appreciate your continued prayers as we diligently seek to advance the mission of God through Compelled among the unreached and oppressed in South Asia. Our deepest thanks and love to you.
